Ten flat brushes in widths from 12 mm to 75 mm: a narrow one for window frames and edges, the middle sizes for doors, skirting and shelves, and the wide ones for walls, fences and big flat surfaces.

The bristles are synthetic, which means they take up little water and rinse out under the tap after water-based paint; for oil-based paint and varnish, clean them with the thinner the tin recommends. Each brush has a varnished hardwood handle with a hole for hanging and a plated steel ferrule crimped tight, so the bristles stay in.

There are two each of the 25, 38 and 50 mm brushes, so you can keep one for primer or stain and one for the top coat.

    Painted the hall, two doors and the skirting boards with this set and I used almost every size. The small ones are good for the window frame. They rinsed clean under the tap afterwards, which I did not expect.

    Good brushes for the money. No bristles came out on the wall and the wide one holds a lot of paint. Handles are smooth and don't splinter.

    Nice set, I use the 50 and 38 mm ones most. Four stars because one of the narrow brushes had a few loose hairs at first. They came out after the first wash and it was fine after that.

    Bought these for a weekend decorating job and they did the job. Came well packed. The parcel was a bit dented but nothing inside was bent. Cleaned them with water after emulsion and they look like new.
